2018 Spring/Summer Trends from Market

Hi Ladies! It's that time of year where Stacy and I head to market with the sole purpose of finding amazing things for YOUR Spring/Summer wardrobe!  This year we brought along our new product developer, Chelsey. We usually get a lot of questions regarding market - so I'm going to go through and answer some of the popular ones and give an insight into the most popular trends we are seeing for this upcoming season!

Market happens multiple times a year in many different locations.  We have gone to market in Las Vegas, Chicago, and Atlanta, but there are also market locations in other cities as well.  Most recently, we just got back from the Atlanta Apparel Mart. 

Yes, we do!  From about 9 am to 6 pm our sole focus is going through each showroom to find the best pieces from every vendor.  I sometimes compare it to going through 100 stores, with each piece of clothing being completely different.  Its fun, its exciting, and its also very exhausting.  Over the years we've become friends with many of the vendors so there's usually some fun reunions, too. 

 

Well, glad you asked! 

One of the biggest trends we will see this season is vertical stripes on everything from tees and tanks to maxi dresses.  Denim incorporates the vertical stripe idea with many pairs including a contrast stripe on the exterior seam.  

You're going to see pearls popping up everywhere in fashion from denim, footwear, to jackets and jewelry.  We currently have some great pearl-embellished jeans in our stores.  

Everything from pineapples, lemons, and palm leaves will show up in prints this season.  We're loving the fresh break from so much floral of the past few years.  But don't worry...

Floral is still very much in!  Mixed with stripes (vertical and horizontal) or on its own, nothing really says spring/summer quite like the pop of a vibrant floral.  

You're also going to see so many kimonos for this season!  From muted and subdued to bright and teeming with color, kimonos are a great layering piece that will take you from beach to the bar, day to night, and spring to summer.  Wear them with jeans, shorts, or over your swimsuit.
